Cinemateca Nacional will pay tribute to Emil Zabala until March 1

The Cinemateca room, located in the Museum of Fine Arts (MBA), in Caracas, opened its doors to honor the memory and film legacy of Emil Zabala, until next Sunday, March 1.

According to information from the Ministry for Culture, this special exhibition invites the public to a necessary encounter with the work of a creator who dedicated his life to capturing the essence of our country through the lens.

In this regard, the president of the National Cinematheque Foundation, Vladimir Sosa Sarabia, stressed that this tribute is part of the institution's unavoidable commitment. “Making the work of our filmmakers visible is a duty. His memory continues to beat through his filmic work,” he said, stressing that Venezuelan cinema stays alive at every screening.

For her part, producer Yoraima Molina, Zabala's wife, shared a moving vision about the permanence of her work. “His films show us how great we are and everything we can give; his memory will transcend through those images.”

Molina thanked the National Cinemateca for this space dedicated to Zabala's work, a work she described as a testimony of love and rigor, always focused on highlighting what is Venezuelan affirmative.

The exhibition will be held at the Sala Cinemateca MBA (Caracas) and will arrive in regional theaters starting February 25. Below we share the schedule:

  • Friday, February 27 (4:00pm): Santiguao/ Arangol
  • Saturday, February 28 (4:00pm): The Audition/Esclavo de Dios
  • Sunday, March 1 (4:00pm): Santiguao/ Solo
