Officials from the Lara State Civil Protection Corps traveled this Tuesday, June 2, to the Jacinto Lara Norte community, located in the Unión parish of the Iribarren municipality, to carry out a technical risk assessment on a house that suffered a total collapse as a result of recent rainfall.
The affected infrastructure, an artisanal Bahareque building measuring approximately 9x9 meters, showed a progressive deterioration due to its age, which was critically worsened after the passage of Tropical Wave number 5 through the Larense region.
During the approach, the commission evaluated the material damage and identified the 25-year-old owner of the property, who lived in the house with his wife, 24, and their one-year-old son, detailed a post on the Civil Protection Instagram account.
“According to the statements of the affected person, the collapse of the structure occurred last Friday, May 29, as a result of the rainfall associated with the meteorological phenomenon, so the family unit had to be evacuated in a preventive manner,” the publication reports.
The prevention and rescue corps found that, after losing their home, the family is currently safe and under protection in a solidarity shelter set up in the facilities of the church “Redeemed in Christ” .
