Civil Rights Activist Jesse Jackson Dies

The famous American civil rights activist and two-time presidential candidate, Jesse Jackson, died this Tuesday at the age of 84, his family announced in a statement.

“Our father was a servant leader, not only of our family, but also of the oppressed, the voiceless and the marginalized around the world,” his family said when he released the news. According to the news portal RT, his relatives explained that he died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.

Jackson was the Democratic presidential candidate in the 1984 and 1988 primaries and was considered one of the most influential black political figures in the United States (USA).
