The vice-president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Carlos Quintero, announced the successful completion of the electoral simulation this Saturday, May 10, ahead of the regional and legislative elections on May 25.
From the headquarters of the Electoral Power, in Caracas, Quintero provided an overview of the day that began yesterday (Friday, May 9) with the entire process of receiving electoral material at all voting centers and the installation of polling stations.
“It's a very important process for us because it's an exercise, it's a simulation where we're going to evaluate all the results of the aspects that were being analyzed as each of the protocols began,” he said.
He said that the voting process began at 8 in the morning, “and from there a dynamic evaluation of the entire development of the protocols of the operational technical staff begins”, without major incidents.
In this regard, Quintero recalled that “in the 2024 simulation, we had 4% replacement of machines, authentication devices, removable memories of voting machines, and today the record we have is 2%, that is, we have guaranteed stability to the electoral platform and that is thanks to the efforts made by our officials in all the preparation we do prior to this democratic exercise.”
