CNE temporarily postpones promotion, constitution, registration and registration of organizations for political purposes

Through a
resolution, the National Electoral Council (CNE) announced this Thursday that the promotion, constitution, registration and registration of
organizations for political purposes is temporarily postponed, in the exercise of the powers
conferred by paragraph 8 of article 293 of the Constitution of the
Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the electoral body.

The
National Electoral Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by number
8 of article 293 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,
in accordance with articles 33.21 and 66.1 of the Organic Law of
Electoral Power and article 5 of the Partial Regulations of the Law on
Political Parties, Public Meetings and Demonstrations, Relating to the Constitution, Activity, Cancellation and others
Registrable Acts of Organizations
for Political Purposes, issues the following Resolution:
CONSIDERING
That
in accordance with Article 5 of the Partial Regulations of the Law on Political Parties, Public
Meetings and Demonstrations, relating to the Constitution, Activity,
Cancellation and other registrable Acts of Organizations for
Political Purposes, the Political Participation and Funding Commission must
publish, in the first month of each year, an official notice with the invitation to interested parties or interested parties for
the purpose of the presentation of requests for provisional
naming as an initial phase of the legally
established procedure for the constitution of organizations for political purposes:
CONSIDERING
That the purpose
of the above-mentioned regulatory provision is the organization and rationalization of the
procedure for the constitution of new organizations for political purposes,
in order to establish the essential conditions for the National
Electoral Council to program, organize and establish the schedule of activities
inherent to the effective exercise of the right of political association provided for in article 67 of the Constitution of
the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela;
CONSIDERING
That, in any
case, the National Electoral Council may make the above-mentioned call at
any other time when exceptional circumstances so require,
as expressly established in the Sole Paragraph of Article 5 of the Partial
Regulations of the Law on Political Parties, Public Meetings and
Demonstrations, relating to the Constitution, Activity, Cancellation and other registrable
Acts of Organizations for Political Purposes;
RESOLVES
FIRST: The publication of the Official Notice established in Article
5 of the Partial Regulations of the Law on Political Parties, Public Meetings and
Demonstrations, concerning the initiation of the procedure relating to the
promotion, constitution, registration and registration of organizations for
political purposes, in application of the provisions of the Sole Paragraph of Article 5
of the said Regulations, is temporarily
postponed.
SECOND: To publish
this Resolution in the Electoral Gazette of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Resolution
approved by the National Electoral Council in a session held on Wednesday, the
twenty-eighth (28) of the month of January 2026.
