The National Theater Company (CNT) announced the premiere of the Venezuelan theater classic La Quema de Judas, by renowned playwright Román Chalbaud, under the direction of Rufino Dorta, in the spaces of the Alberto de Paz y Mateos Theater, located in Caracas.

According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, you will be able to enjoy the play in the Román Chalbaud Room of the Alberto de Paz y Mateo Theater from March 6 to 16, starting at 06:00 p.m on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, while on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. Tickets cost 350 bolivars and can be purchased through the website www.fesitpven.com.ve and at the theater box office before each performance.

This play, written in 1964, is a fundamental piece of national theater that is inspired by the deep-rooted Ibero-American popular tradition of the burning of Judas, a symbolic representation of the betrayal that takes place during Holy Week.

The cast is headed by maestro Aníbal Grunn, who will be accompanied by an outstanding group of actors from the CNT's stable cast: Gerardo Luongo, Dora Farías, Omar Churión, Yurahy Castro, Angélica Rinaldi, Andersson Figueroa and Joel Hernández. In addition, the César Castillo project is joined by the emerging cast, A Mílcar García and Jorbel Ruiz from the Artistic Creation Laboratory, as well as guest actors Jason Hernández and Andy Núñez, and singer Ángela Marrero.

The production is directed by Rufino Dorta, executive produced by Jason Hernández and Carla Báez, assistant director by Alejandro Martínez, lighting design by Gerónimo Reyes, set design and production by Juan Carlos Azuaje, sound design by Alejandro Capote and costume design by Sara Escalona.
