The Coffee Bill, presented this Tuesday by Deputy Andrés Avelino (APC/Lara) before the Subcommittee on Agricultural Economics, will benefit more than 235,000 Venezuelans dedicated to the coffee sector.

The president of the parliamentary body, Deputy Ignacio Buznego (PSUV/Barinas), reported that this bill would settle a debt of more than 30 years with the coffee sector in the country, where there are currently 133 coffee municipalities that contribute to national development.

At the meeting of the subcommittee, the schedule for the public consultation of the Cocoa Bill was approved, which will be presented to the Standing Committee on Economy, Finance and National Development, this Wednesday, to begin deployment at the national level.

Buznego indicated that once the discussion is approved in assemblies with the communities, this week, debates could begin in the states of Aragua, Miranda and Zulia.

The parliamentary body also approved the explanatory memorandum of the Comprehensive Agricultural Health Bill (INSAI), which will update the country's entire plant and animal health system to meet international standards.

Finally, he explained that the INSAI Bill aims to make Venezuela a country free of foot-and-mouth disease, to guarantee the sanitary conditions of food for the People's Power and to provide speed in the procedures of producers for the export of the sector.
