Colombia: President Petro meets with the US head of mission after interventionist acts

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, held a meeting in Bogotá with John T. McNamara, the head of the United States (US) mission framed by the interference of the Donald Trump administration in the judicial process against the father of paramilitarism Álvaro Uribe and the deportations of migrants.

According to detailed information from the Colombian presidency, the meeting took place at Casa de Nariño, the residence of the Executive, without providing further details on the issues discussed.

McNamara, who serves as the United States Business Representative in Colombia until the arrival of the new ambassador, had met last Wednesday with the responsible foreign minister, Yolanda Villavicencio, to discuss strategic issues on the bilateral agenda.
