This Monday, July 8, the President of the Republic of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, reported through his account on the social network X that Health Promoting Entities (EPS) transferred public money to non-existent clinics and therefore there was never attention.
“More than 100 fictitious clinics to which some EPS transferred public money without attention,” the president denounced the case of corruption from previous governments.
Recently, the Senate in Colombia denied approval of the bill presented months ago by the head of state, coinciding with the order to intervene the two largest EPS in the country, Sanitas and Nueva EPS, which have 16.7 million members, arguing mismanagement in a context of financial crisis in the sector.
