Colombian Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay underwent surgery again in Bogotá

The Colombian senator and presidential candidate, Miguel Uribe Turbay, underwent a new surgery this Thursday at the Santa Fe Foundation in Bogotá, where he has been admitted since June 7 after being injured in a political act.

During the attack, Uribe Turbay was shot twice in the head and one in the left leg, while giving a speech prior to the 2026 elections.

Four people were captured for this attack, including the alleged carrier of the weapon used. The Prosecutor's Office identified Carlos Eduardo Mora, Katerine Martínez and William Fernando González as alleged co-authors.

As published by International Media, the senator's wife, María Claudia Tarazona, posted a message on social networks asking for prayers for the medical procedure and thanking her for the support she received.
