More than 752 older adults in the parish of La Pastora in Caracas have been assisted through the Comprehensive Care Brigades for Grandparents and Grandmothers of Patria, said the Vice President for Social and Territorial Socialism, Héctor Rodríguez.
According to a press release, while accompanying a deployment of these brigades in the Lídice sector, Rodríguez reiterated that all sectors of the community, together with the Government, must promote a permanent care system for grandparents who are alone or who suffer from any ailment or economic need, at the same time that existing care programs must be strengthened.
“I have already been to several communities to accompany the work of the brigades and I have seen a lot of encouragement for this task, which is one of the most beautiful they have given us,” he said.
The Care Brigades for Grandparents and Grandmothers of the Fatherland were announced by the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez on April 30. Recently, on the occasion of the National Day of the Elderly, the President in charge reported that more than 365,000 older adults have already been found throughout the country who are in vulnerable situations and that more than 5,000 brigades have been formed to assist them.
