Comprehensive Maintenance Plan begins on the Barinas-Mérida national highway

As part of the actions being carried out for the rehabilitation of roads in areas affected by the rains, the national government initiated the comprehensive maintenance plan on the Barinas-Mérida national highway.

The works, which are carried out through the Ministry of Popular Power for Transport and the Barinesa Socialist Infrastructure Corporation (Corsobain), began in the La Cochinilla de Barinitas sector and will cover the area of La Raya on the border between the llanera and the Andean regions.

In this regard, the state director of the Ministry of People's Power for Transportation, in Barinas, Edwuard Rodríguez, delivered the machinery, tools and implements necessary to carry out the operational tasks, which included chainsaws, scythes, wheelbarrows, shovels, picks, brushes, among others.

He also explained that the tasks include cleaning the channels of the road artery on both sides, as well as the area of the edges that cover approximately three meters of the entire side. “President Nicolás Maduro has given the instruction to maintain all roads, trunk and premises in the state of Barinas, in order to provide a better service,” he said.
