Within the framework of the Training Plan of the Scientific-Peasant Alliance, a total of 21 spokespersons and parliamentarians from the Pensando en Chávez commune, in Lara state, participated in the theoretical-practical workshop on the development and use of Bocashi type fertilizer.
This day, led by the Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology (Fundacite Lara), integrated women and men in learning organic fertilization techniques to strengthen family and community gardens in the El Cují parish of the Iribarren municipality.
The workshop, according to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MINCYT) focused on the manufacture of Bocashi, a solid fertilizer resulting from the controlled fermentation of materials such as rice husk, charcoal, manure and beneficial microorganisms.
During the activity, the participants applied the fertilizer to the direct planting of crops such as coriander, chili and garlic, proving its effectiveness in improving soil structure and preventing plant diseases in an ecological and economic way.
