Authorities from the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) have ratified Venezuela as host of the South American Under-20 Championship.

There had been speculation about a new change of venue for the championship due to “possible disturbances of public order” due to the inauguration of President Nicolás Maduro.

However, noting that there were no events affecting the organization of the event, the Conmebol authorities ratified Venezuela as the venue for the tournament.

The competition will take place from Thursday, January 23, to Sunday, February 16 and will award 4 places for the World Cup.

The South American meetings will be held in 4 cities in Venezuela: Caracas, Valencia, Cabudare and Puerto La Cru z.
