The workforce of the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC) remains deployed in the Aroa sector of El Vigía, in the state of Mérida, where important adaptation work is being carried out to restore electricity service, after heavy rains in the area.

The Territorial Manager of CORPOELEC, Marielys Sacipa, explained that the rainfall recorded during the last few hours in the Alberto Adriani municipality caused the fall of three pole structures, as well as of the high voltage lines, affecting part of the El Bosque substation.

Sacipa added that from the service area, together with the staff of CORPOELE C, the Autonomous Toll and Road Service and People's Power of the state of Merida, they are working to replace damaged structures and restore 4,000 meters of high-voltage lines, to recover electricity service in the shortest possible time.

He also thanked the Sectorial Vice Presidency of Public Works and Services and the Government of Mérida, who joined in dealing with the contingency.
