Representatives of the Simon Bolivar Coordinator announced that the cultural day A Necessary Song will arrive this coming Saturday starting at 2:00pm on Simón Bolívar Boulevard in the parish of 23 de Enero.
“In addition to Los Guaraguao, we will have the
poets Jimmy Ávila and José Córdova, the singer-songwriters Edgar Parra, Jesús
Rodríguez, Ricardo Linares and Leonel Ruiz; the La Patria Buena Folk Group, the Experimental Group Our America and
the AbreGroup ,” said Juan Contreras, representative of the Coordinator.
He also indicated that they will also hold “a combative
day, in defense of the Venezuelan revolutionary process and against the threats
of the American empire, with the most reactionary sectors
at the head of that country.”
In addition, he specified that the day will serve to
raise our voice in rejection of “the unilateral coercive measures that are being
imposed on our country and on those who promote and celebrate them from the extremist opposition.”
For his part, José Guerra, also a member of the country's cultural heritage coordinator, stressed that this is an initiative that they intend to extend to Caracas and the rest of the country, which began last year with its editions in La Vega and Antímano, with the support of the National Institute for Socialist Training and Education (INCES).
