The Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz, urged all human rights institutions worldwide to take urgent measures to curb the violation of the rights of Venezuelan migrants deported from the United States and are being held in a prison in El Salvador.

After meeting with 25 relatives of the deported, Ruiz emphasized the commitment of the Venezuelan Ombudsman's Office to provide support and assistance to affected families. “We call on all human rights institutions in all countries to coordinate efforts and ensure that these serious violations cease,” he emphasized.

The Ombudsman said that the families of the migrants demand the prompt release of the detainees, whom they consider to be being held illegally. “There are 252 families that demand and demand the immediate return of these people,” he said, urging Venezuelan society and the international community to join this cause. “Not only the entire homeland, but all of humanity must come together to stop these serious abuses against human beings,” he added.

Ruiz reported that the migrants were illegally transferred to El Salvador, many under deception, with the false promise that they would return to their country.

Faced with this situation, the Office of the Ombudsman reaffirms its commitment to ensure the rights of those affected and to demand their prompt release.
