‎A Through an official statement, the Ministry of Popular Power for Defense, headed by Vladimir Padrino López, extended its congratulations to the men and women who make up the Bolivian National Guard (GNB), on the occasion of commemorating their 88th anniversary.

‎Hace 88 years old, an armed body emerged with the soul of a people, called to firmly protect the paths of civilization throughout our territory. In the midst of a Venezuela that is still defenceless in the face of the challenges of the internal order, the National Guard was born in 1937; a symbol of security, support and social assistance. Throughout its prolific history, it has been able to adapt to new times without losing its essence, as worthy public servants who maintain the tranquility and calm of the Fatherland with unwavering courage.

‎En At present, its role exceeds the strictly military sphere, being actively involved in the social processes of community development and crime prevention. We see her undeterred in the face of the attacks, facing any action that threatens the Venezuelan State on the front line. From the most remote roads to the most populated places, its members, border guards and city defenders, with an exemplary vocation, embody an organization that has become a fundamental pillar of the Integral Defense of the Nation. Their work, framed in a wide spectrum of functions in the areas of public safety, road control, environmental day care, coastal surveillance, the fight against drug trafficking and the fight against all criminal practices, fill the FANB with glory, reflecting the multifunctional and humanist nature that characterizes them as an institution.

‎Nos is pleased to celebrate this anniversary, on the way to the centenary, praising the efforts of such a meritorious Component. We pay tribute to each National Guard, past and present, because as guarantors of peace and order, they conquered the popular heart of an entire country. I greet with special deference Major General Elio Ramón Estrada Paredes, who is successfully leading them towards expansion and the faithful fulfillment of their assigned mission. To you, sentinels full of cardinal virtues, I express undying recognition and gratitude for fulfilling the call of duty, with all love and loyalty. I pray to Almighty God and our patron Our Lady of La Chiquinquirá to allow them to remain undefeated yesterday and invincible today...
