As part of the actions to consolidate food sovereignty and the eradication of hunger, President Delcy Rodríguez announced during her speech at the World Forum of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) the launch of the Venezuela Alimenta National Plan, an initiative aimed at integrating all productive sectors of the country towards the global goal of zero hunger.
“From this rostrum, I want to announce the Venezuela Alimenta Plan to link all food production processes to achieve this supreme objective: Zero hunger,” said the National President.
As a complement to this strategy, Rodríguez announced that in the coming days he will submit to the National Assembly a new legislative proposal aimed at strengthening territorialized production and connecting the different economic engines.
“A new Law for the Local Economy, which allows, together with the Community Economy, the Community Economy and the Entrepreneurial Economy, the productive mechanism and chain for food production with the large agri-food industry,” he explained.
He recalled that a few weeks ago he announced before the United Nations General Assembly that Venezuela has undertaken an orderly and verifiable process of institutional transformation. “They will ask themselves what this has to do with agriculture, with food, with science, it has to do with everything, that path whose leadership I have taken with full conviction, is the basis on which we will build a new agri-food policy,” he said.
The Head of State insisted that no modern food system thrives without legal security over land and property, so that those who work the fields can invest in it with certainty.
In that sense, he called on all without exception to add to this higher objective. “The recovery is not limited to the supply that today in full Venezuela, we must go further,” he emphasized.
