Deportivo La Guaira secured its ticket to the Final Phase of the Apertura after defeating Táchira (+FUTVE League)

After seven intense matches on matchday 11 of the Opening Tournament of the Venezuelan Football League (FUTVE League) held between Friday 10 and Sunday 12 April, Deportivo La Guaira secured its way to the Final Phase.

In a high-tension match at the Pueblo Nuevo stadium in San Cristóbal, Deportivo La Guaira beat Deportivo Táchira 2-3.

Despite the efforts of Heiderber Ramírez and Luis González for the “Carrusel Aurinegro”, the goals of Nelson Hernández, Alexis Rodríguez and the decisive goal of José Alí Meza in the 76th minute, sealed the orange victory and his direct pass to the next round.

For its part, Portuguesa FC had no mercy against Academia Puerto Cabello and hit it 3-0 with goals from Jonathan Cañete at 21′, Rubén Rojas at 63′ and Marco Bustillo at 86′ at the José Antonio Páez stadium in Acarigua, a result that Monagas SC repeated at Monumental de Maturín against Rayo Zuliano, highlighting a double by Ronald Rodríguez at 52′ and 67′ and one of Edder Farías at 80′.

For their part, Metropolitanos and Zamora distributed points after a goalless draw in the capital.

The closing of the date brought with it a shower of goals in Valencia, where Carabobo FC won 4-2 against UCV FC.

In Valera, Estudiantes de Mérida scored three valuable points after beating Trujillanos 0-2 and the big surprise came from Anzoátegui FC, who beat 1-3 Caracas FC at the UCV Olympic Stadium.
