The current Venezuelan soccer champion, Deportivo Táchira, was unable to snatch points from Argentina's River Plate team in its debut in the 2024 edition.

El Millonario beat the Atigrad team 2-0 with goals from Boselli and Fonseca and scored their first three points in the competition and took the lead in group H, which they share with Libertad de Paraguay and Nacional de Uruguay.

This is River's third match against the Venezuelans in the Copa Libertadores and the first in which they managed to beat the Andeans after previous draws at the Pueblo Nuevo Sports Center and Monumental.
