The process of receiving applications for positions of the Citizens' Power is progressing satisfactorily, said Deputy Giuseppe Alessandrello, during the regular session held this Thursday, March 5, the National Assembly (AN) reported on its website.
The parliamentarian, who chairs the Committee for the Evaluation of Applications for the selection of the Ombudsman and the Attorney General of the Republic, recalled that, last Friday, the commission was installed and the work schedule was drawn up.
Likewise, the board of directors of the instance was appointed, leaving the vice-presidencies of the deputy Carolina García Carreño and the deputy Bernabé Gutiérrez.
He explained that on that day the committee's operating regulations were approved, and progress was made on the scale for evaluating applications as part of the process of working, reviewing and considering documents.
“I take this opportunity to tell all Venezuelans who are interested in holding the positions of attorney general of the Republic and ombudsman, not to wait for the last few days to submit the documentation that is on the AN website with all the requirements,” he said.
He stressed that the list of candidates will be reviewed beforehand and then a new process will be opened on the list of those selected. Later, another political process begins, in which the political factions of the AN participate.
He added that on these names of those selected, the formal designation of those who will be the citizens who will hold the positions of attorney general of the Republic and ombudsman will be discussed, deliberated and chosen.
He invited all interested parties to submit their documentation within the deadlines set out in the schedule, from March 2 to 9, at the headquarters of the Federal Legislative Palace, where a technical team is available from 8:00am to 5:00pm, including Saturday and Sunday.
It also indicates that those who have previously applied to occupy positions of the Citizen Power can do so again in this applicant process, he concluded.
