The first vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Pedro Infante, specified that the Special Commission will adapt the draft reform of the Constitutional Law against Hate, for Peaceful Coexistence and Tolerance, to the spirit of the current political moment.
In that regard, he pointed out that this legal instrument will respond to the demands of peace, reconciliation, encounter, respect and tolerance in Venezuelan society.
He also announced that the Special Commission will hold a new working session next Thursday and announced that they will evaluate the formal incorporation of two additional deputies to strengthen the technical and political capacity of the drafting team.
Infante recalled that the National Assembly drafted this law in the political context of 2017, marked by high levels of confrontation.
He stressed that, in 2026, the country is going through a different time, characterized by a decrease in political violence and by a collective aspiration for national reunion.
He also stated that Venezuela is moving towards a stage where the recognition of all sectors, the understanding of political diversity and the construction of an institutional climate strengthen democratic coexistence.
