the president of the Permanent Commission on Ecosocialism, Deputy Ricardo Molina (PSUV/Aragua), proposed training the spokespersons of the communal councils in environmental matters.

From the day of debate on “Environmental Justice and its Right of Access”, which took place at the administrative headquarters of the National Assembly (AN), the parliamentarian explained that the formation of community councils will be a joint effort with the Office of the Ombudsman and the Venezuelan School of Planning Foundation.

Molina recalled that the Organic Law of Community Councils establishes the incorporation of the spokesperson of Defenders of Mother Earth for the care of the environment.

He asserted the need to advance in the consolidation of popular power in all areas, and the environmental one must be present. He pointed out that community projects must develop the theme of the environment to avoid damage to the habitat.

On the other hand, the presentation of the member of the Ombudsman's Office, Xiomara Cuevas, who presented environmental criminal laws during the eighth day of debate organized by the commission, was highlighted.

He indicated that Cuevas guided the participants in the duties and rights established in the Bolivarian Constitution and the Organic Law of the Environment to know how to report in the case of environmental crime.

He added that, every week, the Ecosocialism Commission deals with issues of national interest to contribute to the debate and participation of the people.
