Diosdado Cabello Rondón highlighted the resilience and heroics of the inhabitants of Cumanacoa to face the effects caused by the passage of Hurricane Beryl in the Venezuelan Caribbean, generating heavy rainfall in the north of the country.

“Cumanacoa is a heroic people,” he exalted while recalling that this phenomenon was greater than that recorded in this town in 2012.

“The natural event that occurred in Cumanacoa this year is at least 10 times stronger than that of 2012, which in itself, was hard when a flood of the river hit the population (...) The water came with a devastating force and deteriorated everything. There were inhabitants who lost absolutely everything, because it wasn't just water but mud and mud,” he explained.

The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) indicated that after an inspection carried out in the past few days of the area, he saw part of the 7,990 homes affected.

“This town is in a complicated situation. But Cumanacoa is a land of martyrs and there is no territory that has been more hit by the repressive forces of the Fourth Republic than that. Since then, many people have disappeared and the country's first Bolivarian Circle was created in that town,” he said.
