The first vice-president of the
United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, during a red curtain press conference
, said that for the opposition sector, elections
are “a business”.
In that sense, he warned that the right wing will
continue to deceive its people, “because in the end elections for them are big
business, it's a way of capturing resources from the unwary. I don't know what explanation
they're going to give to their people later.”
With regard to the disqualification of María Corina Machado,
she said that “it's not a personal matter, it's a matter of law”, while
assuring that eight months ago “she said about Barbados: 'I have nothing to do with
that and no one has consulted me', now she clings to it. That's when you
see the lack of political clarity and arguments.”
“I can say that there are 19 days left, the Tic Tac was returned to
them, another one rings in their ears or to others, when they want to
register with the CNE what will come out is a beep: Check your balance, you are
not authorized; the law prevents them”.
Cabello assured that the
Revolution cannot be threatened with violence “because of that we have a postgraduate degree, a
doctorate to emerge victorious from threats and every time they try to be
violent, they are diminished more”.
