Diosdado Cabello: Today we remain united under any circumstance!

This Monday, February 02, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stressed that the unity that revolutionary forces maintain today under any circumstance is thanks to the leadership and legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez.

“You listen to Commander Chávez's speeches, his entire speech, from that time as president, to the speech of that December 8, all calling for the unity of the people. And that is the unity that we today write as the greatest strength of the Bolivarian Revolution. Remain united under all circumstances,” he said.

Also, during the PSUV press conference, he recalled when Commander Chávez first assumed the presidency 27 years ago and swore before Congress “by the moribund Constitution of the year 61, which was really no Constitution.”

In this regard, he specified that the Constitution of 61 “no one stopped it, no one complied with it, it was used as a method of persecution, because it was a tailor-made suit made by the governments of the Fourth Republic, year 61, and that is why Commander Chávez in his government proposal, in his government program, the first thing he said was a Constituent Assembly”.

He emphasized the value of Commander Chávez “to lead a new Constitution” and that, after being approved, he submitted to another election, in which he was ratified as President of the Republic.
