Druze community in Syria agreed to a ceasefire in Sweida despite Israeli bombings

This Wednesday, the Dar of the Unified Druze Muslim Community in Syria announced a comprehensive ceasefire agreement in Sweida, reached with local representatives and dignitaries, which seeks to put an end to the recent violent clashes that have shaken the province.

According to detailed information in the press, the agreement stipulates the immediate cessation of all military operations and the commitment of all parties to de-escalation.

In order to oversee the implementation, a monitoring commission composed of representatives of the Syrian State and Druze religious leaders was created.

Sheikh Yusuf al-Jarbu, representing the Druze community, stressed that the agreement will guarantee the rights of citizens in Sweida through laws that promote justice and equality for all.

Likewise, immediate work will be done to restore basic services such as water, electricity, fuel and health, and to secure the route between Damascus and Sweida, ensuring the safety of travelers.
