In order to energize the national mining engine, the Minister of Popular Power for Ecological Mining Development and Basic Industries, Héctor Silva, led a strategic meeting with the Productive Alliances of the Orinoco Mining Arc (AMO).
The session focused on consolidating a gold industry model that combines operational efficiency with environmental sustainability.
Key authorities participated in the meeting, including Deputy Minister Jesús Mieres and representatives of the National Mining Supervision and Inspection Service (SENAFIM) and the Orinoco Mining Arc Protection Group (GPAMO).
During the day, the commitment to ecological mining was ratified, emphasizing the continuity of reforestation plans in areas intervened to safeguard biodiversity in the south of the Venezuelan territory.
In this regard, Silva stressed the importance of civic-military-police cohesion to ensure economic sovereignty, since this articulation seeks not only to promote the extraction and processing of strategic minerals, but also to guarantee an environment of legal and operational security for all the actors involved.
As part of the management review, the minister analyzed critical indicators such as fuel consumption, anti-money laundering protocols and blast management.
A central point was the transition from mining alliances to the status of strategic partners, under the protection of the new Organic Mining Law. “Our responsibility is to increase production by 30% this year,” he said.
Silva, who also chairs the Venezuelan Mining Corporation (CVM), stressed that the new legal instrument will facilitate investment and commercialization, allowing incorporated companies to operate under a formal and organized structure.
He also urged maintaining direct communication between the plants and the Ministry to consolidate the mining sector as the nation's main non-oil economic alternative.
These advances respond to the guidelines of the Presidency of the Republic, whose objective is to turn the Orinoco Mining Arc into a fundamental axis of the country's sustainable development.
