The twentieth Venezuela International Book Fair 2024 (FILVEN) proved to be a valuable international meeting point, where the attending public enjoys conferences and interesting debates with representatives of the embassies of sister countries, such as Egypt.

Fraternal ties with that nation were analyzed at a conference on Egyptian-Iberian relations, by the doctor and professor of Political Science and International Relations at Misr University, Muhammad Ahmed Ali Mursi.

Ali Mursi spoke about the importance of strengthening relations between Venezuela and Egypt in order to face the changes that are taking place on the international scene. “Without this cooperation, we are weak in the face of powers that are creating conflicts to achieve what they want and what favors their interests as international hegemony,” he said.

He expressed his emotion and satisfaction at this being his first trip to Venezuela and praised the hospitality of this people, while referring to the importance of an approach based on letters and other expressions of the culture of both countries, stressing that FILVEN has been an important impetus to achieve this objective.

“The potential of Latin America is very great, we have to give space for everyone's participation, to promote values that respect the existence of all, not extermination or exclusion, and to reaffirm these values, the only way out for us is union and the search for common points,” he said.

He also reported that the Embassy of Venezuela in Cairo and the Embassy of Egypt in Caracas are constantly promoting work to cooperate in areas of education, culture, technology, energy and tourism, which translates into an exchange between nations.

In 2025, Egypt will be the guest country of honor at FILVEN, according to previous statements by the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas Poljak, who met on July 12 with a delegation led by doctors Ahmed Bahi Aldin Alassasy, who is head of the Egyptian Books Organization, and Muhammad Ahmed Ali Mursi himself.
