The board of directors of the National Electoral Council (CNE) received at its headquarters the new principal rector appointed by the National Assembly (AN), Corando Ramón Pérez, and the alternate rector, Aura Rosa Hernández.
“We welcome the principal rector, Conrado Pérez, and the rector Aura Rosa Hernández, who, as of today, are already serving in each of the commissions established by the legal regulations of the National Electoral Council,” said Elvis Amoroso, president of the CNE.
It should be noted that on October 17, the National Assembly (AN) of Venezuela appointed Pérez as the new chief rector of the CNE, replacing Juan Carlos Delpino, who was dismissed.
Pérez's appointment is established in article 12 of the Organic Law of Electoral Power, which allows the AN to appoint a rector in the absolute absence of one of the members of the CNE.
