In order to immediately activate an Emergency and Comprehensive Adaptation Plan in the La Ciénaga Sanitary Landfill, located in the Jesús Enrique Lossada municipality, Zulia state, an agreement was signed between representatives of the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC), the Government and the municipalities of Maracaibo and San Francisco.
On the Instagram account, MINEC Zulia, specified that the objective is to optimize solid waste management in the entity.
He points out that the goal is to urgently improve the performance of the landfill, due to weather events and tropical waves that the country is going through, in addition to avoiding the collapse of access roads to the landfill due to rains, which guarantees the continuous flow of collection trucks and improves the operating conditions of the place.
The meeting was chaired by the state director of the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, Edgar Jiménez, accompanied by the Secretary of Environment of the Government, Freddy Rodríguez, and the representative of the Autonomous Service for Landfills in the region.
In addition, there were authorities from the Municipal Institute of Urban Cleaning of Maracaibo (IMAU); Municipal Institute of Environment of Maracaibo (IMA); Municipal Institute of Environment of San Francisco (IMASUR); Public Services of the Mayor's Office of San Francisco and the State Environmental Guard Coordination (CEGA) of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).
The action is part of Vertex Six of the Great Mother Earth Venezuela Mission, such as Sanitation for Life, promoted by the Bolivarian Government, in order to protect the environment and improve the quality of life of the Venezuelan people.
