As part of the actions carried out by the National Government to make efficient use of electrical energy, the Energy Savings Plan was activated in the country's shopping centers.

This was reported by the sectoral vice-president of Public Works and Services, Juan José Ramírez, at the end of a working group with authorities from the Venezuelan Chamber of Shopping Centers (Cavececo), a meeting that allowed us to draw strategic lines that contribute to reducing electricity consumption in these spaces.

“We have reached good agreements regarding the rational use of the electrical service, self-generation systems and the air conditioning area, establishing operational measures,” Ramírez said.

He also explained that during peak demand times, it seeks to reduce the consumption generated through these electromechanical equipment, which is connected to the National Electricity System and which affect demand.

For her part, Claudia Itriago, executive director of Cavececo, described the working table as positive, “because we talked and reached agreements on many practices that have already been applied in shopping centers”.

In the same way, he specified that from the institution he represents, an awareness-raising campaign will begin, to save energy.

He explained that some measures that will soon be applied will be: turning on and off vertical transport (escalators and elevators) at certain times, as well as those shopping centers that can self-generate energy at certain times will do so, in order to reduce the impact on consumption.
