Evaluation Committee of the AN began receiving credentials for positions of the Citizens' Power

The Committee for the Evaluation of Applications of the Citizens' Power of the National Assembly (AN) began receiving credentials this Monday for citizens interested in running for office as Attorney General of the Republic and Ombudsman.
According to the public call issued by the committee, chaired by Deputy Giuseppe Alessandrello, candidates must meet specific eligibility and professional career criteria.
For Attorney General: Venezuelan
nationality by birth (no other nationality).
Postgraduate degree in legal matters or university teaching in Legal Sciences for a minimum of 15 years.
Practice of law for a minimum period of 15 years.
Have no consanguinity or affinity with magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice, the President of the Republic, ministers or rectors of the National Electoral Council.
For Ombudsman:
Venezuelan nationality by birth (no other nationality).
Minimum age of 30 years.
Manifest competence in the area of Human Rights.
Absence of kinship ties (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and the second degree of affinity) with members of the Evaluation Committee or members of the organs of the Citizen Power.
Documents must be submitted to the Federal Legislative Palace, located in downtown Caracas, from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
Interested parties must submit their files in a brown A4 cardboard folder, duly numbered and signed. The required documents include the updated curriculum vitae, affidavits of non-affiliation with political parties and documents that prove professional and academic experience.
After the closing of the deadline for submitting applications, on March 9, the commission will begin the phase of verifying the requirements and evaluating the eligible candidates. Once the interviews and the respective statements have been completed, the body will submit the final list of candidates to the Plenary National Assembly for subsequent official appointment.
