In the spaces of the Casa de la Cultura in Maracay, Aragua state, the wristwear exhibition entitled “Heroines of Venezuela” was inaugurated, an event that brings together an enthusiastic audience eager to learn more about the women who marked our country's history.
The exhibition is developed by the Cabinet of Culture of the state of Aragua, the Art Network, the Sectorial Secretariat of Culture and Creations SixneyLili. The exhibition pays tribute to the courage, warrior spirit and heroism of prominent Venezuelan female figures.
Among the exhibits are the emblematic heroines such as Apacuana, Eulalia Buróz, Domitila Flores, Josefa Camejo, Cecilia Mujica, Juana Ramírez “The Advancer”, Manuelita Sáez, Ana María Campos and Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi, among many others, which were recreated with great detail and sensitivity by the hands of 19 talented wristbands from various municipalities in the state of Aragua, as well as from Carabobo and the Capital District.
Lili Zapata, a renowned Aragüeña wristband and one of the main promoters of the event, reported that the exhibition will remain installed for a month. The main objective is “to make those who visit it aware of the fundamental role played by Venezuelan women during the Venezuelan independence process. It is for this reason that we pay tribute to these women precisely in the month of March, the month of women,” Zapata emphasized.
