The Rafael Vicente Egui Public Library in Charallave opened its doors to the exhibition “Pastales Lectoras”, an initiative that brings together nearly 400 creations made by middle school students, who captured their interpretations of reading and different literary works using various artistic techniques.

According to information from the Ministry for Culture, the exhibition, promoted by the National Book Center (CENAL), with the participation of students from the Carmen Ruiz State Educational Unit, will remain open to the public until June 5.

Through drawings and paintings, young people transformed postcards into pieces that reflect their vision of the literary universe and their relationship with books.

The library director, Ely Monroy, invited the community to visit the exhibition Monday through Friday. At the same time, CENAL's Strategy Manager, Yris Villamizar, reported that the experience seeks to be replicated in other public libraries in the country to promote reading, critical thinking and cultural exchange among young people.

Cultural promoters and local authorities also participated during the inauguration, who highlighted the importance of reading and artistic expressions as tools to strengthen the integral formation of new generations.

In addition, the day included musical performances, stage performances and traditional events linked to Venezuelan cultural identity.

The exhibition invites visitors to rediscover books from the perspective of youth, combining literature, creativity and cultural heritage in a meeting space for the Charallave community.
