The Government of Bolivia reported the detonation of an explosive device near a polling station, located in the municipality of Entre Ríos, Tropico de Cochabamba, where the police were present to carry out the corresponding investigations to clarify the incident.

“We have had the report that an explosion of an artifact occurred in Entre Ríos, near the Carrasco Educational Unit; this is being verified with police personnel, but we have had no major incident; the information we have is that the activities are proceeding normally,” said the departmental commander of the Police, Edson Claure.

At the same time, the police authority indicated that in the municipality of Arque, where a dynamite detonation was reported on August 16, electoral activities are taking place normally. “The necessary precautions were taken to remain in Arque pending coordination with community members and authorities, who guaranteed the development of the electoral process,” said Claure.

The official confirms that this Sunday the contingent of personnel from the Departmental Electoral Court, jurors, officials and all the material, as well as military personnel, arrived in that area to protect security on election day without any inconvenience.
