The president of the Venezuelan Colombian Chamber, CAVECOL Luis Alberto Russián, reported that in 2023 exports from that country to Venezuela grew by 53%.

“Thanks to the will of both Colombia and Venezuela, the reconstruction of binational relations in exports has been achieved, based on constant communication, work spaces and meetings,” he said.

Russián referred to the figures that are the result of all the effort, since operating in Venezuela is not the same as operating in Colombia, so the challenge is to be able to work on a real integration agenda in order to be able to harmonize and converge the way we operate in both countries, “that is the biggest job we have in front of us.”

“This year 2023 has allowed us to become aware and to understand the dimension of the gap and of the complementarities; and when we look at the figures it's important because we can see that, in terms of exchange from last year to this year, they didn't jump, we came from years when the exchange was so little that the numbers doubled,” he said.

Formal binational trading has only grown 9%. This is important, but formal imports made from Colombia have only grown 3%, for that period they went from 424 to 471 million dollars, while exports from Venezuela went from 66 million dollars to $101 million,
