In the framework of the 82nd Annual Assembly of FEDECÁMARAS, the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, stated that the signing of 61 international agreements and the reactivation of the binational company are estimated to generate more than 320,000 direct, indirect and derivative jobs that will have a great impact on regional and national development, in the next four years.
“The first thing that is activated are the restaurants in the country, because all these new jobs go to the restaurant, the second the hotel industry in the oil zones, those who arrive in Caracas, those who go to Maracaibo and those who go east to La Faja, and thirdly, the provision of services and goods that are produced in Venezuela and that is why the chain is so important,” explained the National President.
In terms of salaries, the president recalled the increase in the comprehensive minimum income in the public sector from 160 to 240 equivalent dollars, which represented an adjustment of 50%.
He also noted that he asked the Executive's economic team that starting next year, the increase in workers' compensation should be above the growth of the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP), “so that workers in Venezuela can feel directly the benefits that all these agreements will bring.”
He stressed that oil production this year has increased by 8% year-to-date, despite the fact that in the month of January we had “a blockade that prevented not only exports but also reduced our production, which had reached one million 200 thousand in the month of December, and was reduced to 900 thousand barrels.”
In that sense, he said that if it weren't for that impact, growth would be greater.
Rodríguez projected greater dynamism for the Venezuelan economy starting in 2027, driven by the expansion of the hydrocarbon sector and the attraction of energy investments.
“The oil agreements signed binationally with the United States are intended to drain 65 billion barrels of oil, an agreement that will give a great boost by converting oil reserves into gas and converting them into development for the Venezuelan people,” he said.
