FANB destroyed an illegal mining camp in Amazonas

The strategic operational commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (CEOFANB), G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez, this Sunday, March 02, reported that the FANB, through REDI No. 06 Guyana, in ZODI No. 63 Amazonas, within the framework of the O/F “PLATANAL 2025" to the O/ONeblina 2025”, destroyed an illegal mining camp in the state of Amazonas.

Through his account on the social network X, he indicated that the operation was led by “G B Geovanny González, in command of three (03) fighting urras of the Zodi Amazonas, carried out patrols and reconnaissance in the Mina Nueva sector”.

He explained that eight 200-liter drums and three 70-liter cans of gasoline were destroyed, as well as 23 carpets, an electric generator, 100 empty bags, and other materials.

Hernández Lárez recalled that, according to Venezuelan laws, “all types of mining and hydrocarbons” are “prohibited” in Amazonas because it is territory under a special protection and conservation regime.”

“No human group can be above the interests of the State, it is a duty and a right to conserve the environment,” he stressed.
