Some 527 condominiums in seven states affected by the earthquakes of last June 24 receive funding and technical support to repair damage to their structures, said the president of Plan Venezuela Renace, Jacqueline Faria.

In this regard, he specified that care is organized on the basis of a diagnosis that classifies the damage and determines the needs of each building.

“They have benefited from a credit that, after evaluating whether the damage was mild, moderate or severe, is granted an amount that allows the condominiums, the owners of those apartments, to make the appropriate repairs,” Faria explained.

The official explained that the support contemplates four situations: condominiums with sufficient resources and organization to carry out the works; buildings whose funds only cover common areas and facades; cases in which funding is insufficient; and communities that need support to organize and manage repairs.

He also explained that governorates, mayors, single authorities and entities linked to the plan will participate in monitoring the works, providing technical assistance and finding solutions to meet outstanding needs.

In addition, he noted that the diagnosis is ongoing and that support will begin to be defined on a case-by-case basis. At the same time, he indicated that a team is already formed in Aragua and that working groups will be organized in La Guaira and Caracas to accompany the condominiums in the recovery of their buildings and move towards safe housing.
