A total of 37,205 projects will be submitted to the National Popular Consultation on October 18 in the communal circuits, while 428 projects will be elected in neighborhood condominium councils, the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, said Friday.
“37,205 projects are up for election in the communal circuits and 428 projects are up for election in the neighborhood condominium board. It's atypical. This is the first time that condominium meetings are participating,” said the president during the inauguration of the Lanceros de la Victoria Endogenous Development Center, in Caricuao, Caracas.
Rodríguez expressed satisfaction with the inclusion of condominium meetings. “I am very pleased that they are joining the communal circuits, that neighborhood condominium meetings are also participating,” he said.
The head of state said that the consultation seeks to consolidate citizen participation mechanisms. “We can take this October 18, where we are holding a popular consultation, where we are consolidating the mechanisms for citizen participation in national public life, that we can carry out these projects that have an impact on the daily life of the community,” he said.
Rodríguez stressed that the decision is up to the people. “What most satisfies me is that there are more than 37,000 projects that are up for choice, whatever the people decide and that it is the organized community that will ultimately say,” he concluded.
