Farmers chose their spokespersons to promote food sectors

On a new democratic day, this Sunday, the Elections of Peasant Spokesmen were held, who will represent the sector to promote the food sector in the country.

In the state of Nueva Esparta, meetings were held to elect representatives by category of the National Council of Peasants, in the Aricagua and El Salado sectors, where they focused on the selection of spokespersons for the margarita chili pepper, the margarita tomato and the conuco integra.

Eduardo Ibarra, spokesman for the National Peasant Council, explained that these appointments are essential to boost the state's productivity. The producers highlighted the unique qualities of the area's emblematic crops.

In the Toma de la Flechera community, in the municipality of San Fernando, Apure state, the peasant sector exercised its right to vote with the objective of continuing to strengthen cereal production areas, as well as the poultry sector and the pig sector.

Meanwhile, in the Sucre parish of Caracas, peasants gathered to elect their representatives for items such as carrots, bananas, coffee, cocoa, tubers, and others.
