In a clear demonstration of their contempt for the fate of all Venezuelans and of submission to the commands of their imperialist masters, extremists Edmundo González and María Corina Machado issued a letter to express their support for the inhumane and violating actions of international law that the U.S. administration employs against compatriots.

These figures who, during the last campaign for the presidential elections of July 28, 2024, where they were defeated, used the phenomenon of blockade-induced migration and media campaigns to attack the candidate of the Revolution and President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, today join the voices that defend and justify the use of fascist and Nazi methods to persecute and kidnap our compatriots whom they call “criminals”.

“We support the measures that, within the framework of law and due process, the democratic governments of the United States, Chile and other international allies in the cause for the freedom of Venezuela, to identify, arrest and penalize those who make up or support the Aragua Train and other criminal networks, dependent on or associated with Maduro,” said these extremists in a letter released this Monday.

This position contrasts with that expressed until a few months ago by these leaders of the Venezuelan extreme right who, during the years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, were promoters of what they called the Venezuelan “diaspora”, which they said was “fleeing the Castrochavista dictatorship”, this as part of a campaign that sought to justify international military intervention under the excuse of stopping the “regime of torture, persecution and kidnapping”.
