Film “Kueka: Ancestral Memory” is screened at the 4th RT Documentary Film Festival in Russia

This Monday, February 23, the
film “Kueka: Ancestral Memory”, by Venezuelan documentary filmmaker María de
los Ángeles Peña Fonseca, will be screened at the 4th International Documentary Film Festival
RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes, which kicked off in Moscow, Russia.
The filmmaker arrived in the Russian capital to personally
present her work, which honors the vital presence of the
indigenous peoples of Venezuela. In addition to sharing details about the
film's production, Peña Fonseca will also answer questions from event participants
.
The story tells the struggle of the Mapauri community, in southern Venezuela, to recover the sacred stone Kueka, which was brought to Germany.
The festival, held at the Russian National Center, brings together directors, documentalists, war correspondents, artists, poets, musicians and opinion leaders from Italy, Turkey, Belgium, Venezuela, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Lebanon and Serbia.
In addition, it includes dozens of films, which have already been screened in more than 30 countries such as Argentina, Nicaragua and Peru, among others. In the same way, expert debates and film screenings are expected to take place on the second and third days of the festival.
