FILVEN 2025 will arrive this Friday at Plaza Bolívar de Petare

From this Friday 14th to Sunday, March 16th, the 20th edition
of the International Book Fair (FILVEN) will arrive at
the emblematic Plaza Bolívar de Petare, Sucre municipality in the state of Miranda, to
celebrate culture and literature in a big way.
This was announced by the Minister of
Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, who announced that in this chapter,
the Fair will be attended by 45 exhibitors and will be open to the
public from 10:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the afternoon.
He also noted that this edition will incorporate
the participation of the “Barrio Adentro” communities, to promote access to
literature among all sectors of the population.
“This edition of the Fair will be a
real publishing home run, designed to attract not only lovers of reading,
but also those who have not yet discovered their passion for books,
” he said.
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Culture,
Raúl Cazal, stressed that this edition of FILVEN will pay tribute to the
renowned writer Benito Irady, president of the Center for Cultural Diversity of Venezuela.
In addition, regional writer Julio Valderrey
and guest author Antonio Trujillo will be honored, who will offer a specialized workshop for community chroniclers.
The head of the Antonio José de Sucre Plan,
Pedro Infante, announced that a variety of cultural
and educational activities will be deployed that will involve all sectors of the community. “The Fair
will begin at the Petare Metro facilities, allowing
users to interact with literary and educational texts at the stands.”
Also, the governor of Miranda, Elio
Serrano, reaffirmed the region's commitment to the promotion of reading and stressed
that to date 23 libraries have been refurbished and digital
rooms have been refurbished, tools that have been fundamental in the fight to
promote reading. ”
Finally, the Secretary of Culture of Miranda State, Gabriela Simoza, highlighted the efforts made to promote reading through the “A Viva Voz” Plan, which seeks to organize circles and train reading promoters and mediators in communities.
“The Great Viva Venezuela Mission will allow us to multiply permanent spaces for reading, to ensure that each community in the Sucre parish has a place dedicated to our girls and boys,” he said.
