FILVEN will arrive at the Mauricio Pérez Lazo Cultural Complex in Cojedes this Thursday

The Mauricio Pérez Lazo Cultural Complex in the city of San Carlos, Cojedes state, will open its doors to host next Thursday, March 5, the 21st edition of the Venezuelan International Book Fair, a literary event that seeks to promote reading, culture and encounters with writers.

This edition pays homage to the writer Juan Díaz, who is a migrant, and works as a heavy cargo carrier, and he also considers himself a Venezuelan at heart. He is known as a hidden poet in “The Eighth Island”, a title that also bears his first book.

The program includes book presentations, poetry recitals, talks with leading authors, literature workshops for children and orality, as well as cultural activities that will take place between Thursday and Friday, from 9:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon.

Among the invited writers will be: William García, who is a prominent figure in the Cojedes state, mainly recognized for his work as a historian, chronicler and teacher. José Daniel Suárez, a prominent writer and poet from Cojedeño. Among other renowned writers and poets such as William Ramírez, José Antonio Martínez, José Miguel Aular, Urike Sánchez, Miletza Rodríguez, Olga García and Nidia Portocarrero.

It is expected that visitors to FILVEN Cojedes will be able to access a variety of titles and literary novelties available from different publishers, including those of The Dog and the Frog, Monte Ávila and the Ayacucho Library, among others.
