Foreign Minister Gil remembers the anniversary of Vietnam's victory against French troops in Dien Bien Phu

The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, recalled this Wednesday the 71st anniversary of the victory of the Vietnamese people against French colonial troops in the city of Dien Bien Phu, which occurred on May 7, 1954.

Through his social networks, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister noted that “a skilful military strategy and a people determined to be free were key to achieving the collapse of the French occupation in the Indochina region.”

In this regard, on behalf of the Government of Venezuela, headed by President Nicolás Maduro, he greeted “the Vietnamese people on this important anniversary that inspires us not to give up in the fight for self-determination and sovereignty.”
