After an intense and fruitful work schedule in Caracas, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Cooperation of the Republic of Suriname, Melvin Bouva, was pleased to establish a plan that will allow the signing of agreements in various areas of cooperation.

After being received at the Miraflores Palace by the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, and the Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil, Bouva stressed that the main purpose is to raise bilateral exchange to new standards of commercial efficiency, reinforcing a historic relationship of more than 50 years of diplomacy.

During his statements to the media, Foreign Minister Bouva stressed that they discussed issues of great relevance and areas with enormous potential for cooperation, especially in the energy, agriculture, fishing and tourism sectors.

Bouva emphasized that the binational agenda not only covers the economic and exploitation of resources such as fishing, but also social growth: “We have debated with special attention the development of capacities and the education of our population, strengthening both institutional and personal cooperation.”

The Foreign Minister of Suriname deeply thanked the Bolivarian Government for the hospitality of the Bolivarian Government to him and the entire Caribbean technical delegation that accompanied him.

“We have taken the steps for our next joint meeting in order to conclude the discussions and the necessary procedures for the signing of these agreements and those memorandums of understanding to start working really,” he said.
