Foreign Minister Yván Gil assessed how Venezuela has defeated US and EU attacks

This Tuesday, Popular Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, held a center with the diplomatic corps at the headquarters of the foreign ministry, in Caracas, where he highlighted how the blockade tried to collapse the Venezuelan health system during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Gil, stressed that after the “infamous Barack Obama” decree stating that Venezuela is a threat, the attack against the nation intensified. “In an inhumane category such as happened during the Covid-19 pandemic, where attempts were made to block us from accessing medicines, vaccines and equipment,” he said, adding that “thanks to the powerful structure of relationships that we have with most of the countries of the world, we were able to overcome this possibility.”

“The United States (US) and the European Union (EU) blocked us and are still trying to bend us. During 2019, a group of countries tried to ignore the will of the Venezuelan people and impose a fictitious government from abroad; fortunately, our institutions, which are extremely robust, based on Popular Power, a formula of Unity of all the living forces of the nation allowed us to give stability to the People of Venezuela,” he said.

Likewise, Gil stressed that, despite the attacks, the country managed to get on track thanks to President Nicolás Maduro and the Prosperity and Economic Recovery Program, “we managed to establish a path of prosperous growth.”

The foreign minister stressed that the country has been experiencing 17 quarters of economic growth, improvements in the oil industry and food sovereignty. “This path of growth stands out in the economic field. On the political issue, during 26 years of the Bolivarian Revolution, the greatest political stability for the nation has been demonstrated.”
